How to unlock Iphone which is not activated?

Hi,I have purchased a non 3G Iphone & is yet to activate. Can some one help me,as how can i unlock the phone....

slide your finger over the place where it says slide to unlock
if you are using it with at&t, there's no need to unlock it, u just put ur sim card in & call at&t and add the data plan.

otherwise, u can download the program online & unlock it that way. type "unlock iphone" in a search engine..and then it will give u directions.

if u have any problems, feel free 2 ask me by email, or go to modmyifone.com and search the forums, and they have a lot of stuff on there about how 2 do it.
